Singer/Actress Kate Young was recently seen in Doubt, Jane Eyre, Endgame and Salome at Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre, where she has been an Associate Artist since 2000. She has toured widely in her career as an actress and singer, travelling to Ireland in Shaw's Major Barbara, appearing regionally with Milwaukee Shakespeare, Human Race, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre and the Great Lakes Theatre Festival in a range of styles from Shakespeare, Moliere, Coward, Miller, Wilder and Friel to Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstein and Kander and Ebb. She starred in the role of Honegger's Joan of Arc at the Stake with major symphony orchestras and for international broadcasts. A versatile recording artist, she can be heard on numerous CDs by the award-winning concert ensemble "The Dear Friends." For film and television, she has played opposite Peter Falk, Sinbad, Sharon Stone, James Woods, Martin Sheen and Valerie Bertinelli. A native San Franciscan, Kate trained in London at LAMDA and now lives in Chicago where she has been seen at Northlight Theatre, ShawChicago, Light Opera Works, Drury Lane Oakbrook and Chicago Shakespeare.
